Ethics Review Manager (Ethics RM or ERM)(external link) has replaced Online Forms as the online platform for submitting, reviewing and monitoring HDEC applications for health and disability researchers.

Ethics RM went live on 01 September 2021. Ethics RM uses a powerful ethics review software to manage the full life cycle of all applications from researcher to reviewer. The system makes completing ethics applications easier and managing studies more efficient.

A user manual is available here.

Two Ethics RM training videos are available:

  1. In the first part of this introduction to ETHICS RM, we provide step-by-step guidance on account creation and login, creating, submitting, recalling applications and the main work area screen: https://youtu.be/0QdYTCioDUo(external link)(external link)
  2. In the second part of this introduction to ETHICS RM, we provide step-by-step guidance on sharing, transferring form to colleagues and system 'roles', creating post-approval items and existing applications from Online Forms: https://youtu.be/SxxOQVz0HMk(external link)(external link)

Further changes to HDECs

This is the first part of a wider review of the HDECs system that will include a review of the HDECs Standard Operating Procedures and the Terms of Reference. An Advisory and Governance group will be established in 2021 to oversee this work, and the Ministry will publicly consult on any proposed changes.
